Emily Stephens is joining us on the #road2boston, sponsored by adidas. Emily is a self-taught photographer and home cook who loves DIY projects, drinking margaritas, and running. She lives with her husband, young son, and dog on Cape Cod!
I am so excited to partner with Marathon Sports and adidas Running for this year’s Boston Marathon. The #road2Boston is a long one and I suspect it will be full of adventure.
In late 2015, I participated in a Couch to 5K program in my community and was HOOKED ON RUNNING! After completing a 5K in November, I wanted to push myself to run a longer distance. I immediately registered for a Half Marathon which took place in February 2016. I followed a training program and completed that race in under my goal time!
When I look back on my running journey, I really cannot believe how far I’ve come in a relatively short amount of time. With eight half marathons completed in two years, I am excited to go for the longer distance! This adventure is an opportunity to prove to myself that you’re never to old to try something new. Joining adidas and Marathon Sports to run through one of the most beautiful cities in the country is a dream come true!
As you follow me during the weeks leading up to Marathon Monday, keep in mind that I am a wife, mother, and entrepreneur. I am your friend and neighbor. I am here to show all of the busy moms out there that it IS possible to set a HUGE goal and achieve it while setting an example of healthy habits for your kiddos! If I can do it, you can do it, too!
