It’s finally here! To say we are irrationally excited about the release of this shoe is an understatement #shoegeekprobs
For those of you that are unfamiliar, the Saucony Freedom ISO officially launches on December 1st. This shoe is the culmination of lots and lots of research and testing. With this shoe, Saucony brought its most innovative and technically advanced design ever, with a goal of giving runners more liveliness underfoot, a greater consistency to the ride of the shoe throughout the run, and greater energy return when it was needed most.
And what about the name? Well this is pretty cool:
TO NAME A SHOE THAT WOULD HELP DEFINE ITS FUTURE, SAUCONY LOOKED TO ITS PAST. THE FREEDOM TRAINER, LAUNCHED IN 1983, WAS ONE OF THE MOST INNOVATIVE AND ADVANCED RUNNING SHOES OF ITS ERA. OVER 30 YEARS LATER, IT ONLY SEEMED FITTING TO NAME THE MOST INNOVATIVE RUNNING SHOE OF THIS ERA WITH THE NAME ‘FREEDOM’.
Here’s the lowdown on this new shoe:
FULL-LENGTH EVERUN MIDSOLE
Your entire foot is cushioned in Saucony‘s luxurious, energy-returning cushioning system. EVERUN is like a Tempur-pedic mattress for your foot. It also gives you a full length EVERUN topsole – which is a nice layer of cushioning that sits between the bottom of your foot and the structure of the bottom of the shoe. LEARN MORE ABOUT EVERUN
A dynamic engineered mesh adapts to the shape and motion of your foot. Fits like a glove!
Get some extra durability with this tri-flex outsole.
A 4 millimeter difference between your heel and your forefoot helps you run more naturally. A lower heel/toe offset in a pair of running shoes helps your body transition away from a hard heel strike into more of a midfoot/forefoot strike. Studies have shown that a heel strike while running decreases running efficiency while also putting higher impact forces on the body.
Weight: 8.1 oz (women); 9.0 oz (men)
Stack Height: 19mm heel – 15mm forefoot
Category: neutral, high cushion
The Freedom ISO is available in men’s size 9-12 and women’s size 7-10 in all Marathon Sports locations and at marathonsports.com.
