It is very rare to find a shoe that you absolutely love for almost every type of run. Asics really knocked the Novablast 2 out of the park. From the day I got it I logged four days of straight running in this shoe from easy runs to a long run with a faster tempo in the middle. This shoe is an awesome combo of soft cushioning but the right amount of pop to pick up the pace without putting tons of stress on your legs that a true speed day shoe might. Coming from someone who has a solid shoe rotation of 10+ trainers, workouts shoes and racing shoes, it is not often that I ignore all of the others and keep picking up the same shoe. Also this shoe comes in green!! I am a big advocate of making more men's running shoes in colors that aren't navy blue and grey, so that is a huge plus. The only complaint I have about the Novablast is the toe box is a little bit on the shallow side. So if you are a runner that lift's their big toe during the stride you may feel that a little bit.

This is my second iteration of the Novablast, and it’s every bit as good as the first, if not a little better. This is such an incredibly versatile shoe. If I want an easy plush ride, the Novablast does it. If I want to pick up the pace the pop from the Flyte Foam Blast really responds nicely. This is the perfect shoe for the long runs that call for some tempo miles thrown in. Despite the higher stack height I never feel unbalanced, and the upper fits very well. There is plenty of space around my forefoot in the toebox. The heel holds well, and the instep is plenty roomy for my high arch and instep. Asics killed it with the Novablast 2. Keep ‘em coming for years Asics!
