CUSTOMER RATINGS & REVIEWS
When the soles of my old New Balance sneakers began falling apart, I found that the two different sizes of their new model weren't wide enough for my very flat feet. At my wife's suggestion, I went to Marathon Sports. First, I was very impressed by the safety precautions. Second, using the Aetrix foot scanner, they were able to offer choices that I otherwise might not have considered. Third, far from trying to up-sell me, their staff member first suggested the Beast '18 Wide, which I bought and wore at home for several days. Concluding that it was too tight, I bought and tried at home both Beast '18 Extra Wide, which was too wide, and the Beast '20 Extra Wide, which is just right. One should bear in mind that I'm not a runner. Rather, I was looking for sneakers to wear while cycling (with pedal straps), walking, and the gym, if or when we return to something resembling pre-COVID normal. For these purposes, I've very much enjoyed my new sneakers. Note that I graded the Beast '20 "Fair" for durability only because the form would not let me leave them unrated. As I've worn them less than a month, I can't really have an opinion on this characteristic
The shoe is fine; luv it if it were a bit more colorful; heel wears requiring replacement, while the rest of the shoe has lots of life left. The EE has the roominess I require.
The new version is very lightweight and a bit more flexible. I absolutely loved walking in the 2018 version. I did feel more stable in the 2018 version, but I must say I do enjoy how lighter this new version feels! Less clunky as well- which is a huge upgrade.
Have just worn around the house until now. Will use outdoors next week.
