The Mizuno Wave Rider 24 is one of the best shoes I have owned. I often wear this shoe while working in the store, which requires me to be on my feet for most of the day. With that being said, I have never had any issues with my feet getting tired or feeling any aches or pains after a long day of work. The cloud wave technology is phenomenal. This technology creates really solid and firm cushioning that allows for great shock absorption while keeping my foot secured within the shoe. The wave plate that the Wave Rider has possessed for many years continues to be a top of the line aspect of the shoe, that again helps with that shock absorption and structure. Moreover, despite the great cushioning and wave plate, I felt as if this shoe was the perfect weight for me, not too light where it felt like I only had a sock on, but not too heavy where it felt like I had a cement block attached to my foot. Lastly, although I cannot speak to how many total miles you can get out of this shoe, I can note that after the first month of wear, the shoe does not feel any different than when it did when I tried it on for the first time. I expect this shoe to last for quite a while.
The Rider collection has been around for over two decades which is an impressive accomplishment. They have been proven as a trustworthy every day training shoe. The addition of the Enerzy midsole definitely provides a solid upgrade to the shoe too. This technology provides great cushion that doesn't wear out. Overall, the Rider delivers everything runners have enjoyed about previous models with the additon of Enerzy to help with the impact of running or walking!
I was fitted into the Rider 13's years ago when I began running in high school. Over the years I have gravitated towards more lightweight options for my daily trainers. However, the return to the Rider 24 has been more than welcomed. With added cushioning and a responsive ride brought by the new Enerzy technology. The Waver Rider 24 is a great addition for runners who like a lightweight and quick ride but want a little bit more under foot!
The updated enerzy cushioning is amazing! I love the durability of this shoe as well. I haven't had any problems taking corners/turns at higher speeds. The amount of outer sole tread is awesome and i feel like this shoe will last forever. It is a 12mm drop which I am not used to. I found myself fighting off the heel strike more so than normal. This wasn't a deal breaker though and I will definitely keep this in my rotation of daily trainers. Also mizunos run a bit on the narrow side so if you have a wider foot consider getting the wide option!
I have been running for a long time in very plush shoes. I was on the hunt for a more firm and responsive shoe that was also comfortable and in the right price range. The Wave Rider 24 exceeded those expectations. The snug fit and response from the wave plate in the heel was phenomenal. I have had plantar fasciitis for over a year and these shoes have really helped absorb the impact from running and walking many miles and limit the pain through out the day.
