A great daily trainer (Staff Review)
Although it is on the heavier side (10.9 ounces), the shoe itself is bouncy and responsive while running. If you are looking for a long lasting, durable shoe ideal for your slower/ mid tempo runs, this could be a great option for you.

Versatile… and tons of cushion [Staff Review]
These shoes great for any kind of training or walking you might be doing. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but quickly became excited about wearing them. They’re perfect for easy runs and are also highly durable if you’re looking for a great high cushion daily trainer.

A Durable Workhorse For Packing On Miles (Staff Review)
This shoe accomplishes what it set out to do. With a large amount of responsive cushioning, it delivers a soft, flexible underfoot feel that helps your legs recover and grind for miles. If you're a new runner who is looking to up their mileage or a seasoned veteran who is looking to work a new high-cushioned pair into their rotation, this is a great option that will last you a long time. The relatively thick upper on the shoe also makes it one of the most water-resistant trainers on the market. However, this can feel a little hot and stuffy in higher temperatures and humidity, meaning the shoe shines brightest as a cooler-weather workhorse for recovery days and long runs.

Huge improvement to Mizuno's high cushion trainer!
This year's Wave sky has more of a streamlined name but also more of a streamlined shape. The three layered cushioning makes running a lot of easy miles in this shoe incredibly plush, and very durable so far! The upper material is a little bit on the thicker side but once the New England winter rolls around, that with the grippy tread on this shoe is going to make an incredible cold weather trainer.

Best wave sky to date?
This shoe is amazing, it gives you a high cushion Mizuno experience unlike anything before! The Enerzy foam feels springy and responsive, very different than the wave plate feel. I am currently training mostly in the Inspire 17s which I love, but I also rotate the Horizon 5 in for longer runs. This shoe is in a class of its own, maintaining a nice lightweight feel while providing a plush underfoot experience. Mizuno has really hit the nail on the head here. Whether you are running, walking, or recovering, this shoe feels absolutely incredible. Not to mention it is pretty slick looking as well! I love the Wave Sky 5 and would recommend it highly to runners and walkers alike.
