This shoe is fantastic on every level! Super lightweight so I'm a little bit faster on my run, but I also really enjoyed the flexibility of the shoe while doing some cross-training. From the track to the gym without a problem!

I have run 1000s of miles in the first two versions of the Beacon; it's been my go-to trainer since it released. I love the fit of this shoe: there is plenty of room for my toes but my heel feels very secure. I personally do not notice any difference in fit between version 2 and version 3. The heel still flares away from the achilles which I really like. In terms of performance, I do not notice much difference between version 2 and version 3. The beacon is the perfect level of softness for me: it's cushy enough for long runs but still feels lively for faster work. My only complaint with the previous versions was durability. I would get around 400 miles out of a pair which isn't horrible but is a little less than I would hope. After around 100 miles in my current pair (version 3) the durability does seem markedly improved. I don't see any signs of wear after this mileage which I could not say for version 1 and 2. Overall, I really love this update. New Balance kept the aspects of the Beacon that made it great while improving the durability.

I have run in the Beacon several times and it is still feeling as comfortable as the first time I tried them. I am really pleased with the way my heel feels locked in with the ultra heel system. The shoe has soft but supportive cushioning yet the shoe is extremely light. A perfect training shoe that would also work as a light weight shoe to race in. I plan on continuing to use this shoe as one of my training shoes.

I currently have 42 miles in my New Balance Beacon V3's, and I've loved every run in them. From the first time I tried this shoe on, I knew I was going to enjoy it. My foot fits nicely into the heel cup, which I was familiar with from the NB 1080 V10's, and there was very little sinching toward the front of the shoe as I tightened my laces. At first I assumed this lightweight and responsive shoe would be reserved for tempo runs, but after a couple runs, I realized the Beacon V3 is also a great daily trainer. Yes, you can pick up the pace in the Beacon if you want, but the shoe doesn't force you to like a racing shoe would. The Beacon's midsole is not what I would call plush, but there is plenty of cushion to keep your feet and legs healthy for some pretty long runs. I ran 13 miles on the road in this shoe, and my legs felt great the next day. There are plenty of lightweight trainers that I could not say the same about. As of now, there are very little signs of wear or midsole degradation on my Beacons, so I can imagine that this shoe will last at least 400 or even 500 miles depending on the runner. Overall, I would recommend the New Balance Beacon V3 to anyone who enjoys a lightweight shoe with a responsive ride. I would even recommend this shoe to anyone who does not want to buy two pairs of shoes but needs a daily training shoe as well as a tempo day/workout shoe. I am confident that the Beacon V3 can accomplish just about any task that comes its way!

If you are one that finds yourself enjoying lightweight running shoes, this has to be your go to shoe. I, myself, have never really been much of a lightweight shoe runner, as I prefer a bit more cushion. But, with the use of New Balance's Fresh Foam technology, I felt that this shoe provided me with enough cushioning and structure to get through base runs and workouts pain free. Another thing that I enjoyed about this shoe was the range it possesses. I have used this shoe for some 200 meter repetitions, 6 mile base runs, and 10 mile long runs and have found nothing but success. Although I cannot fully speak on the true durability, running 40-50 mile weeks in this shoe has been great. A third feature of the shoe that I enjoyed was the "Ultra Heel." Although the shape of the ultra heel might appear odd to some, I thought this feature did a solid job in keeping my heel locked into the shoe, preventing any slippage. Also makes putting the shoe on a whole lot easier! In full, if you are looking for a trainer that is a bit lighter than most while still providing you with a bit more cushion then most lightweight options, I think this is a great shoe for those needs.
