Staff Review
Having worn previous models of this shoe I can say that the Saucony team does not disappoint on improving and enhancing the Kinvara line. Having used these for the past couple weeks I can say with confidence that these are one of my favorite new shoes. Whether it was walking, running, or just standing around in them, I have had nothing but a comfortable and opulent ride. The new sock-like fitting uppers is snug but breathable and I tend to notice its fits better on narrower feet. The thin flat laces help provide a less pressured yet true to size fit which I really enjoyed. As for the new PWRRUN Foam, I think Saucony got it spot on with providing a responsive feel while still maintaining a level of cushion that keeps your feet feeling fresh! One thing I would love to point out would be how light the shoe is and how much comfort it still provides! If you are looking for something lightweight, comfortable, and on the speedy side, I would highly recommend these shoes!

The Kinvara 12 is more than a return to form for the model. Sleeker, lighter, and simpler than the previous Kinvara, the 12 is my favorite among the last four generations. Saucony nailed the upper, offering a glove-like fit (for those with somewhat narrow feet), snug but without hot spots, with a smooth, thin, and secure tongue. Flat laces lay across the tongue, pulling the shoe tight with no lace pressure and completing one the best distraction-free uppers I’ve run in. As for the midsole, I found the new PWRRUN EVA blend a little bouncier than before. This is a responsive, low-profile shoe with just enough cushion for moderately long runs. Like the Altra Rivera, the light weight of the Kinvara 12 challenges the runner to go faster without the help of a plate, rocker, or super foam (like PWRRUN PB in the Endorphin Series shoes). The shoe worked perfectly for me as a midfoot-striker, and the dovetail design for the rear of the midsole will provide greater impact absorption to heel-strikers. The low 4mm offset promotes midfoot-striking and toe-striking. Toe-off is snappy due to the low profile, and again, the weight encourages quick turnover. Without much rubber on the outsole except in high-wear areas, I don't expect the shoe to last longer than 300 miles depending on abrasion to the EVA. This is the tradeoff for such a light shoe. In my rotation, this shoe serves well as a fast trainer for road workouts (tempo runs, long intervals, fartlek, hill repeats) while doubling for moderate-pace easy runs. With this model, Saucony reinstated the Kinvara as my favorite shoe ever.
Double "O" 12 or The Kinvara Identity
You know in movies how all the best secret agents are really good at a lot of things, but are never the experts. They are well rounded, smart, fast and attractive and able to go between any scenario that they are thrust into. That is the Kinvara 12. This shoe can handle it all, slow days, intervals, speed workouts and even a marathon race. It has just enough cushioning to feel the road, but not feel pain in the joints, it is smooth in it's transition and fun at any pace. It is also great for the gym, getting tacos, laundry day or walking the dog.

Kinvara 12 [Staff Review]
Having received the shoe a week ago, I already have just shy of 50miles on it. The fit is phenomenal, the toe box has enough room for your feet to have tremendous ground feel and control. The tongue on this year's model has been dialed back and sits nicely against the top of your foot. One of my all-time favorite updates for this shoe is in the lacing system. The laces keep the shoe nice and snug around the midfoot, giving the shoe a locked-down feel. The foam is firm but quite responsive. I look forward to pushing this shoe into different areas of training. I highly recommend this shoe for anyone looking for a lightweight, seamless, and timeless ride!

How do you improve on perfect? (Staff review)
The Kinvara is my favorite shoe. The previous generation was light and fast. This one is lighter and faster. The fit is great, hugging my heel and mid foot, with enough room in the forefoot for some toe splay. My mid foot tends to be a little wider, and the arch hugged it perfectly. The foam is a little more firm than the previous generation, but still has plenty of bounce. It excels in track work, and on tempo runs. I can comfortably wear the Kinvara 12 on runs up to about a half marathon, and maybe a little longer. Saucony did a great job on this update, making a fun lively show that I want to keep grabbing again and again.
